Shelter Music Boston Annual Music & Meaning Benefit Concert
Join us for an evening of inspiring music and heartfelt stories. This year's benefit concert will feature movements from "Water For My Soul," a suite inspired by the words and musical ideas of our audience members, the result of our 2017 Collaborative Composition Workshops. This project was created to honor our audiences who are homeless or in recovery throughout Greater Boston by creating new contemporary chamber music inspired by their written words and to empower them by including them in the creative process. "Water For My Soul" documents that art creates change, inspires hope, and is an essential component in the lives of all people, none more so than our homeless community members.
Event attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a short collaborative composition project just like the workshops held in our shelter partners.
The reception begins at 6:00 PM and the program begins at 6:30 PM.
