2018 DWSP Fall Meeting
The Downtown Winston Salem Partnership Fall Meeting, presented by Wake Forest Innovation Quarter and Wells Fargo will be held from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Thursday, October 18th at the Grand Pavilion Ballroom of the Embassy Suites.
Networking with Coffee will begin at 11AM - Downtown Partnership Board Members, Chairman and DWSP President will be there, along with our Keynote Speaker.
The meeting starts at 11:30 am and your ticket includes lunch.
The Keynote speaker this year is Bruce Katz. Bruce is the inaugural Director of the Nowak Metro Finance Lab at Drexel University. The Lab helps cities design, finance and deliver transformative initiatives that promote inclusive and sustainable growth. Katz was previously the Centennial Scholar at the Brookings Institution, where he focused on the challenges and opportunities of global urbanization. He assumed this role after 20 years at Brookings, where he founded the Metropolitan Policy Program. Before joining Brookings, Katz served as chief of staff to U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros and was the senior counsel and then staff director for the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Housing and Urban Affairs. Katz is the co-author of The New Localism: How Cities Can Thrive in the Age of Populism and The Metropolitan Revolution: How Cities and Metros are Fixing Our Broken Politics and Fragile Economy. He is a graduate of Brown University and Yale Law School. He is a visiting professor at the London School of Economics and sits on the Board of BLOXHUB, an urban innovation hub in Copenhagen, Denmark that brings together companies, organizations and researchers to co-create solutions for more sustainable cities.
