Amy Geddes: Phrasing & Dynamic in Slow Airs
Level: Confident Beginners - Intermediate
Learn a simple tune. Then, as the melody becomes familiar, try out some of the tricks used by fiddlers to shape each phrase and build dynamic. Explore how to vary the weight and speed in the bow to begin, end and shape phrases. And understand dynamic by learning to play a simple phrase in several different ways - using a combination of left & right hand techniques, such as ornamentation and double stopping.
Leave the room feeling more confident and in control of your performance and have a lovely new tune going round and round your head and buzzing through your fingers!
