Bear Tread
Bear Tread, a new and exciting band inspired by the Grateful Dead and featuring musicians who have toured with members of the Dead as well as members of legends from The Neville Brothers, Jerry Garcia Band and The Band, are out and on fire NOW!
Guitarist-singer Dave Hebert (AKA ABear), Dave has spent his musical career and caused many jaws to drop in many genres, including rock, reggae, folk, blues, and bluegrass. Currently a resident of Denver, Colorado, Dave relentlessly performs and records across the country. Versatility is his trademark. Whether it's his own songs or songs from the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band catalog, Dave not only captures the feel of songs, he often takes the musical risk of breathing new life into an old familiar tune and puts the ABear signature on it. That's the adventure and this is his journey.
Greg Koerner is a veteran of countless New York bands and a "phil-in" for the Dark Star Orchestra. Greg is the founder of NYC based Gent Treadly, which has featured a veritable cornucopia of rock and jamband luminaries such as Grateful Dead keyboardists Vince Welnick & Tom Constanten, Charles Neville of the Neville Brothers Band, Garth Hudson of The Band, Buddy Cage of The New Riders of the Purple Sage and Bob Dylan, as well as Ratdog's Kenny Brooks. Gregs unique bass playing and boundless energy propels Bear Tread and makes it a truly a unique act which has evolved into one of the most heralded units on the national live music circuit, offering a precocious blend of bluesy improvisational roots rock.
Dave Hebert and Greg Koerner are Bear Tread. A new band in the tradition of The Grateful Dead, Bear Tread released its first eponymous album of original songs in 2018.
Check out our music on SOUNDCLOUD: Bear Tread is now playing shows on the east coast, west coast, the rocky mountains and the US Virgin Islands. Come on out and enjoy!
