Cantatas of Bach and Buxtehude, Katherine Jolly, soprano
The Wedding Cantata may have been composed for Bachs own wedding to his second wife Anna Magdalena. In any case, it is a piece full of joy and hope, with wonderful arias not only for the voice, but also for the instruments that accompany it: violin, oboe, and cello.
Also on the program: new treasures by Buxtehude for organ with David Sinden and by Dall Abacco for solo cello with Ken Kulosa.
