Titus Andronicus is the story of a soldier who comes home from war and finds that there is no place for him in the world he fought to save. Titus has lived by the law of the battlefield for so long that an act of mercy is foreign to him. He commits a single act of violence in a time of peace, and Tamora, who begged for mercy to no avail, becomes merciless in pursuit of her revenge. From then on, the city that Titus fought for turns against him, and he swiftly becomes the one who begs for mercy and discovers that revenge is much more easily attained.
