Trumpet Summit is a relatively new project by innovative young trumpeter, Marques Carroll. The ensemble pays tribute to some of the great trumpeters in jazz (referred to as BAM, or Black American Music), and includes their arrangements of works by Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Nicholas Payton, Lee Morgan, Clark Terry, and Freddie Hubbard as well as original pieces by the band members. The intriguing lineup of rhythm section (piano, bass, drums) plus three trumpets gives plenty of opportunity for both tight ensemble playing and soaring solo work. Trumpet Summit recently released their debut album, "In Stride We Keep Steppin", and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Studio5 stage.

We'll be recording this performance for Chicago Jazz Live on WDCB, so you'll be part of the studio audience!
