the Romanian and Transylvanian Dances by Bartok, three songs (from op. 3 and op. 38) by Sibelius, Stravinskys exhilarating but not often performed Concerto in D (Basle) of 1946, Shostakovichs Adagio and Allegretto, op. 36, and the famous Serenade in E, op. 22 by Dvorak. As many listeners know from prior concerts at The School, in this acoustically resonant venue the sound of strings and voices really is glorious!
