Cafe Nordo Presents: Smoked! 2013
FOODIE THEATRE RETURNS Café Nordo gets the draw on Pioneer Square in a theatrical showdown between the Old West and Haute Cuisine.
Riding into town and looking for trouble starting May 2nd, Seattle's "Bad-ass Dinner Theater" (Flavorpill) returns for its fourth Cocktail Series show. Café Nordo Presents: SMOKED! mixes stiff drinks, dusty-trail theatrics, and a daring five-course menu of Molecular Chuck Wagon to channel both the Spaghetti Westerns of Sergio Leone and the overbearing company-town oppression of Monsanto-style agribusiness. With award-winning composer Annastasia Workman and the Café Nordo House Band invoking the musical spirit of Ennio Morricone inside the stunning new Pioneer Square event venue The Kitchen by Delicatus, hungry theater-goers are in for an evening of dirty dealings and heartsick cowboys where the only thing comforting is the food. In a limited run, in its most intimate venue yet, SMOKED! features Seattle's top acting talent with Gregory Award Winners Ray Tagavilla and Ryan Higgins as well as Mark Siano, Opal Peachey, Maximillian Davis, Evan Mosher, and L.A.'s Kate Hess. Café Nordo is committed to sourcing its food locally and using only the freshest, most seasonal ingredients. For its cocktail series, Café Nordo partners with distillieries both local and just plain amazing, and SMOKED! will feature partners including Highland Park and Black Grouse. This new show from the enigmatic Chef Nordo Lefesczki comes just as Pioneer Square is transforming into a culinary boom town with new venues opening from chef-entrepreneurs like Matthew Dillon, Katherine Anderson, and Mike Easton including Bar Sajor, London Plane, and the relocated Il Corvo. For the past three years Mike Klotz and Derek Shankland have been among the pioneers there, making some of Seattle's finest and most original sandwiches at Delicatus in Pioneer Square; with their new event space, The Kitchen, they are welcoming Nordo's SMOKED! for a fresh taste of what Pioneer Square's gold-rush/Skid Road heritage is becoming. It's high noon on the flavor trail and no fancy-pants amuse-bouche can chase away the hearty piquancy of justice . . .
About Café Nordo In 2012, Café Nordo stunned Seattle with Café Nordo's Cabinet of Curiosities, an eerie multi-room museum of food featuring some of Seattle's top performing and installation artists. Then Somethin' Burning followed with an homage to David Lynch's Northwest and the pre-corporate fare of the humble American diner. Since its first five-course foray into foodie theatre in 2009, Café Nordo has served up three five-course dinner shows (The Modern American Chicken, Bounty! An Epic Adventure in Seafood, and Café Nordo's Cabinet of Curiosities), three cocktail shows (Sauced, To Savor Tomorrow, and Somethin' Burning), served a five-course meal in a thirty-foot tree house, won critical acclaim (including four Seattle Times Footlight Awards), and established a cult following in Seattle.

Question: |
Hi Brown Paper,
I'm trying to purchase tickets for Smoked with the cocktail flight, yet a drop down option to select my preferred performance date is not available. Can you please lend a hand? We would like three tickets for Friday, May 24th, please. Thank you! |
Answer: |
Cafe Nordo will be taking Memorial Day off. We are so touched you want to buy tickets for that weekend, in our experience you are one of very few, so we will be lounging in the sun somewhere sipping something rummy with ming. We hope you will too, and find an alternate evening for our festivities. |
