ROCKFORD RAGE vs QUAD CITY ROLLERS
Rockford Rage Roller Derby returns to the UW Health Sports Factory on Saturday, Sept. 22, hungry to continue the leagues undefeated 2018 rankings climb with a matchup against the Quad City Rollers.
Since January, Rockford has climbed 75 spots in the Womens Flat Track Derby Associations international rankings, from 302 to 227. In order for the Rage to continue to rise, its charter team must not only beat its Davenport, Iowa-based opponent, but do so by a healthy margin. QCR was number 288 in the WFTDAs most recent rankings of about 350 teams.
The Rage will donate ticket-sale proceeds for Sept. 22 to Childrens Safe Harbor in Rockford, which offers supervised court visitation services. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the action starting at 6:30 p.m. at the UW Health Sports Factory, 305 S. Madison St., Rockford.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door; admission price is $5 for children ages 5-12 and free for children younger than 4. You can also receive the advance $10 ticket price at the door with a donation for Safe Harbor of one of the items listed at facebook.com/rockfordragerollerderby/.
