Tapestry + Kharitonov
Vocal ensemble Tapestry will be performing two programs at the First Baptist Church at the 2018 Connecting Chords Music Festival. The group's guest musician on November 8 -- internationally acclaimed pianist Arsentiy Kharitonov -- will be playing a solo recital on November 9.

"Lessons of Darkness: Armistice Day 1918" Thursday, November 8 at 7:30 PM
In turns celebratory and solemn, "Lessons of Darkness" commemorates the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, marking the end of World War I. Tapestry will present works of composers affected by the war -- Rachmaninoff, Debussy and Ravel, among others. Program features guest musician Arsentiy Kharitonov on piano.

A prizewinner of national and international competitions, Kharitonov has been heard in solo recitals and with orchestras all over the world. He will be performing a solo recital on the Fazioli 9'2" concert grand piano of the First Baptist Church.

"Starry Night" Friday, November 9 at 7:30 PM
For this exploration of the Night Sky, Tapestry brings together gorgeous music and imagery for a one-of-a-kind experience. The program will feature works by David Lang, Hildegard von Bingen, Alan Hovhanness, Claude Debussy, Ivan Moody and Patricia Van Ness.
