Loosening The Caregiving Knot: A Conference for Family Caregivers
In honor of National Caregivers Month, Nancys House will host its second conference for caregivers on Saturday, November 3, 2018. The conference will be held at The Science History Institute (formerly known as The Chemical Heritage Foundation), 315 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Continental breakfast, beverages all day, and lunch are included. 150 caregivers are expected to attend, with room for 25 care recipients to be accommodated in a staffed activities room.
Nancys House provides comprehensive respite for family caregivers, creating the opportunities to learn self-care skills in a community of support. This conference is an extension of that mission, and is designed to balance general information and self-care. There will be eight classes offered, and each will be offered twice once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Chair massages will be available all day.
Registration costs to caregivers will be kept low, in keeping with our mission of affordable service for a financially stressed group. The general registration will be $25.00, to include all meals, services and materials.
