Our Third Soaring Spirits Gala
This is a fundraising gala for All Saints Episcopal Church's Traveling Day Society ministry. In honor of National Native American Heritage Month, we are holding a second First Nations gala event featuring Native American flute and drum music and Native American cuisine. We will have a silent auction, as well as a raffle. The donation is $20 per person.
Examples of confirmed silent auction items include Portland Trail Blazer tickets, vacation time share, original artwork painting and a quilt created only for this auction.
Our featured performer will be Gentle Thunder, as well as Judy Rose, and Traveling Day Society. Gentle Thunder is a GRAMMY® award nominated multi-instrumentalist(grand hammer dulcimer, drums and Native American flutes), producer, musical intuitive, sound healer and consciousness facilitator. For more information about Gentle Thunder visit: http://www.GentleThunder.com
The gala is in support of All Saints Episcopal Church and Traveling Day Society, which is a Native American drum and flute ministry to people in hospitals and hospice and the music aids them on their spirit journey from this life. The Heartbeat of the Drum aligns us and the Prayers of the Flute are a primal guide for us along our Spiritual Journey. The Traveling Day Society is dedicated to supporting those at the crossing point in their Spirit Journey from the physical world to the Spirit World. We are an inter-tribal and multi-cultural blend of musicians utilizing the voices of the Drum, the Native American Flute and other traditional instruments to create a prayerful and respectful environment to help enhance a peaceful crossing. The Traveling Day Society works closely with hospital Spiritual Care professionals as well as the Hospice Community to provide our services when requested.
