Table Songs Festival - Georgian Singing and Dance workshops!
Come down to the Russian Hall on Saturday November 17 for workshops led by members of Seattle's Georgian vocal ensemble onefourfive!
Georgian polyphonic singing workshop Saturday November 17, 12 -1:30 pm Led by Jen Morris of onefourfive
Jen Morris of onefourfive will teach Georgian folk songs from various regions in Georgia. All songs will be taught by ear with wordsheets provided. Members of the onefourfive with knowledge of these songs will help speed the learning process by singing alongside us. Recordings allowed and encouraged so you can bring these songs back to your choirs and small groups. Special emphasis on vocal quality, Georgian pronunciation, and take-home repertoire.
Cost $15. Maximum 30 participants. 90 minutes including short break.

Georgian folk dance workshop Saturday November 17, 2 - 3:30 pm Led by Janelle Bel Isle and members of onefourfive
For those interested in advanced dancing, Georgian solo and partner dancing will be taught by Janelle Bel Isle, dancer/dance researcher of Central Asian dances. For those interested in easier dances, members of onefourfive will teach dances accompanied by folk songs with 3-part singing and live drum (doli). Take away repertoire will include songs suitable for adult choirs as well as elementary/secondary music classes.
Live percussion by Dave McClelland of Dave and the Dalmatians/Bonaca Cost $15. Maximum 30 participants. 90 minutes including short break.
