Nicole Yun, Mike Pace

Nicole Yun has been the main songwriter, singer and guitarist for indie rock group Eternal Summers for the better part of the last 10 years. Though the group specializes in post-punk and dream pop, Yun has ventured into her own world of psychedelia, 90's college rock and Brit pop for her upcoming debut solo album. With help from two teams of all-star musicians in both Philadelphia and Brooklyn (including Guided by Voices' Doug Gillard, and Maximo Park's Duncan Lloyd), Yun has managed to open up the possibilities of her concise, tuneful songwriting style, to more open and daring directions.

The new Mike Pace and the Child Actors album Smooth Sailing sounds like a progressively-minded 70s singer-songwriter joins radio-ready early 80s AOR/power-pop band with garage roots for major label debut, blows budget on synth and guitar overdubs but still can't shed acoustic guitars or pianos and gets dropped after one album.
