Chalk The Walk sponsored by LoMastro Performing Arts Academy

The LoMastro Cares Chalk The Walk event invites artists and community members to create one-of-a-kind chalk drawings on the sidewalk bordering Gorton Community Center, at the corner of Illinois and McKinley in Lake Forest.

The event is open to anyone, and the cost is $35, which includes a box of chalk and an assigned sidewalk square. Artists may provide their own chalk if they wish.

Artists can begin working on their creations at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 15. Drawings are to be completed by 5:30 p.m., when judging will begin.

Event goers are encouraged to vote for their favorite sidewalk square throughout the day. Votes will continue to be cast at the LoMastro Performing Arts Academy table during the Gorton Center Block Party beginning at 5:30 p.m. The sidewalk square with the most votes wins the Peoples Choice Awards. Winners announced at 6:30 p.m.

The LoMastro Cares Chalk The Walk event is sponsored by LoMastro Performing Arts Academy. Funds raised provide Integrative Dance scholarships for children with learning differences and special needs.
