About ** Northwest Premiere! **
Arran Shearing impressive first feature follows Carl, a young playwright with a history of incarceration who works at an East London theater company for the homeless. One night, after a performance of his new play ends with an actor assaulting an audience member, Carl leaves the theater still donning the costume of his affluent character, and happensinto Meredith, a quiet and alluring young woman who has recently moved to her late grandfathers London flat after his death. Still in disguise as a wealthy man, Carl begins a sweet romance with Meredith, but risks abandoning his play and violating his parole in pursuit of the upper-class a life with her promises. Yet, as their feelings for each other deepen, any possibility for a future together is thrown into question when she invites him to attend the very play that he is a lead actor in. Shot in beautiful black and white and told in the spirit of classic Hollywood films such as My Man Godfrey, Forgotten Man illuminates the challenges of shared relations and the conflicts between obligations and desires.
