Rick Friedman Location Lighting Workshop
Come join us for this 2 day studio and location hands-on lighting workshop.
We will be shooting in some terrific locations and photographing some of my favorite models.
Workshop Description:
Rick discusses his portable location lighting techniques that enable him to capture his award winning imagery. As photographers, we are challenged to create a beautiful and compelling image everyday for our clients or ourselves.
Day 1 of the workshop begins in a studio, creating interesting light with a single speedlight on camera. With a few simple light modifiers and a couple of lighting tips, on camera flash can produce some wonderful results. From there we will go to off camera flash using several techniques and light modifiers to gain the lighting effect we desire.
During the day 1 of the workshop we will explore controlling and shaping light, the use of softboxes, beauty dishes, strip lights, and Flashbenders. We will be working this hard and softliight. Attendees will learn the use of light meters and the different way of triggering off camera flash.
Day 2 of the workshop is on location. We will explore the beauty of natural light and using strobe mixed with ambient light to advance your photographys authenticity. The workshop will practice and elaborate the techniques from day 1. Attendees will be working with portable studio strobes and mixing the studio strobes with speedlights and available light.
At the end of the workshop, the attendee will feel confident capturing great images no matter what lighting situation you come up against!
The workshop is hands-on. The participants are encourage to share the scenarios that they have encountered in there past shootings. As a working magazine photojournalist, Ricks approach is always practical, innovative and resourceful. As a veteran magazine photojournalist, Rick has photographed many world leaders and celebrities . During the workshop, Rick will share behind the scene stories of some of his most famous subjects and how he approached each situation and them inspirations behind the photograph.
