About While the story of Japanese Americans has widely been told in terms of this groups internment during World War II, this documentary explores the roots of Japanese Americans in Hawaii and how they contributed to efforts to defeat imperial Japan. Without sparing any details on the harshness of Japanese immigrant treatment before internment in Hawaii, this film focuses on the story of Kazuo Yamane, the child of a Japanese immigrant, and how he and fellow soldiers used their knowledge of Japan to destroy the imperial power, even when being betrayed by the United States.
