NVCM's Classical Kids: Decoda
On Saturday, December 1 at 10:30am, NVCM's Classical Kids presents Decoda. Decoda premieres pieces by the most talented emerging composers, as well as championing the masterworks. With highly-developed interactive performance techniques, Decoda delivers!

Classical Kids concerts engage kids through fun, short performances with a carefully curated repertoire performed by skilled, energetic musicians who specialize in bringing music to life for young listeners. The performances may be followed by short demonstrations and opportunities to touch and feel instruments, as well as opportunities to ask questions. The performance lasts approximately 45 minutes, and is suitable for all ages. Audience members will be introduced to the lives, as well as the music, of the composers on the program.
About Decoda:
Decoda is a New York City-based modular chamber ensemble dedicated to creating meaningful musical experiences through dynamic performances, education, and a quest for social impact.
Decoda provides engaging performances, interactive concerts, and enlightening discussions serving the widest possible types of audiences. Now in its fifth season, Decoda's projects and performances have taken place in the South Africa, United Kingdom, Germany, Abu Dhabi, Iceland, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, and across the United States.
Decoda is committed to supporting the international community of artists who wish to deepen their community involvement and understanding of high-level interactive performance. In order to effectively serve this community of burgeoning teaching artists, Decoda has established annual chamber music and leadership institutes at Skidmore College, in South Africa, and as the Resident Ensemble in Creative Performance at the Guildhall School of Music in London, UK.
Music for Transformation, Decoda's social justice initiative, brings creative songwriting projects to help empower vulnerable and disenfranchised voices. Decoda's exemplary work in maximum-security prisons and in the juvenile justice system has been recognized by CNN, Huffington Post, the Associated Press, the Washington Post, and Billboard Magazine. Decoda has on three separate occasions been invited to the White House to perform and advocate for arts programming as a means for criminal justice reform.
About Noe Valley Chamber Music :
Noe Valley Chamber Music (NVCM) has been presenting superb chamber music to audiences in Noe Valley since 1992. NVCM ticket holders have an opportunity to hear and meet the Bay Area's finest musicians, ensembles, and vocalists in the authentic yet informal chamber music tradition. This concert series allows both established and emerging local artists to develop audiences for their work, and to perform new, old or unusual repertoire in an intimate setting.
