Giacomo, a native Saratogian who now calls London his home, returns each August to visit friends and family. On one of these visits he happened upon a friend, Jonathan Greene, busking on Saratoga's Broadway with two of his Hot Club of Saratoga bandmates in our early days of cutting our teeth on the music of Django Reinhardt. Discovering musical cousins is always a treat and a path toward collaboration was opened. Chuck and Chad, HCS guitarists, accompanied Giacomo in his Caffe Lena show that year. The following year we produced our first event together as Giacomo joined Hot Club of Saratoga for an evening of gypsy swing.
Now, some 5 years later, we again join forces. This year Giacomo will bring a trio to play a first set of inspiring and sublime music under his direction. Joining Giacomo for the trio will be Saratoga's Mark Kleinhaut on guitar and Cambridge's Ed Green on cello. For a second set Giacomo will once again join Hot Club of Saratoga for a round of hot swing in the spirit of Django Reinhardt's 1930's Paris.
