CIF Presents Kyle & Drew, Scoresby and JoKyR & Jesster
Kyle & Drewfrom Dallas Comedy House, Dallaswith Kyle Austin, Andrew Hamer Kyle & Drew is a two person fully improvised show based on a suggestion from the audience. The two capture the essence of fun with their playful spirit and their willingness to do anything all the while investing in characters and the relationships they form.
Scoresby from New York Citywith Evan Barden, Tony da Costa, Brian Lisi, Jenny Dunne, Tom Saporito No sweeps, no tag outs, no dull moments: This is SCORESBY. Inspired by Chicago's JTS Brown, SCORESBY formlessly flows from moment to moment. Each entrance and exit starts a new scene while performers use devices ranging from monologues to in-scene questions in order to break into characters and relationships quicker and deeper. SCORESBY has been performing their unique brand of long form improv since 2010 and has graced the stages of The Magnet, The P.I.T., and UCB East in NYC; played ImprovBoston's Harold Night, and was a 2012 Philadelphia Improv Festival selection.
JoKyR and Jesster from Salt Lake City with Joseph Kyle Rogan and Jesse Parent Hailed by contemporaries as "the punk rock of long form improv," Utah duo JoKyR and Jesster are known for intelligent comedy, energetic drama, and above all, their brutal honesty. While performing a frenetic combination of character-based and "meta" improv, the performers are perfectly willing to drag their emotional baggage on stage with them. From there, though, the baggage isn't so much unpacked, as it is exploded on the tarmac. Through impromptu scenes, monologues, poetry, performance art and the occasional rap battle or wrestling match the duo explore the politics, religion, personal relationships, and 1980s pop trivia that make them the incredibly attractive and desirable men they are today.
