Saturday/Sunday, August 18 & 19, Meet at HHM at 8 pm, please check our website for updated information about this event.
This special overnight bike ride includes a tour of African American historic sites in Minneapolis. We will leave from the Hennepin History Museum on Saturday evening, led by the capable team from the Major Taylor Bicycling Club of Minnesota. Major Taylor, the clubs namesake, was the first African American world champion cyclist in 1899. They are experienced ride marshals and steeped in history of the local African American community. The group will stop along the way to learn about important landmarks and parts of local history you may not know about. This is an 18 and up event, designed for riders with the stamina to ride all night. It isn't a race, but it is a long ride. Advance registration is required.
