Radio Jarocho and Los Gallos Negros at Tropicalia
A Mexican and Latin American music showcase to remember! Radio Jarocho from NYC join forces with DC's Los Gallos Negros to take the audience on a sonic journey of musical genres from Mexican and Latin American culture! Traditional Latin American food will be available for purchase to make this your one-stop shop for the night! Expect more surprises as we get closer to the date.
Radio Jarocho plays the rowdy, upbeat, and at times melancholic music of the countryside of Veracruz, Mexico, and has been mixing it with the sounds of New Yorks urban life for over ten years. Having recently joined forces with son jarocho legend Zenen Zeferino, they deliver performances that are passionate, energetic, and true to the roots of the genre.
Los Gallos Negros are a Washington, DC-based collective of musicians focused on preserving and promoting musical genres from Mexican and Latin American culture.
This concert is presented by Multiflora Productions' annual month-long DIY global music festival "Flash of the Spirit" that happens across multiple venues in Washington DC during the month of October. Its mission is to present emerging and remarkable international musicians from abroad as well as local musicians from our diverse immigrant communities to celebrate their stories, heritage, and cultures through their music.
