Svetlana Smolina is a frequent guest at Festivals worldwide having performed with The Mariinsky Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, The New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall, The St. Petersburg Philharmonic, L'Orchestra National de France, The New York Chamber Orchestra, the iPalpiti Orchestra in Disney Hall, and many others.
Notable recital appearances include The Salzburg Festival, The Hollywood Bowl, Ravinia Rising Stars, White Nights, Maggio Musicale, Mikkeli, Ruhr Klavier, The Easter Festival, Rotterdam Phillips Gergiev, The International Gilmore Keyboard, Settimane Musicali di Stresa, Festivale di Bologna, Michelangeli Festival, Hennessy Artists Series at The Hanoi Opera House, The Voice of Music in Upper Galilee, and the Philadelphia International Festival.
Ms. Smolina has performed at The Royal Covent Garden Opera, Mariinsky 3 Concert Hall, Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory Hall, Mozarteum and Großen Saal in Salzburg, Merkin Hall in NYC, The Kravis Center, Lincoln Theater, NJPAC Hall, Gulbenkian Foundation, The Grand Artists Series in Tel-Aviv, Academia Santa Cecilia in Rome, The Miller Theater at Columbia University, Viennas Sacher Hall, Steinway and Merkin Hall in NYC.
Since 2011 Svetlana directs the piano program at Philadelphia International Summer Music Festival. In the 2014-15 season, Vadim Repin gave a series of concerts with Svetlana in Washington DC and in London for The Trans-Siberian Art Festival, a recital in Koerner Hall in Toronto, and at the Salle Garnier, Monte-Carlo Opera for The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. In 2015-16 season Svetlana opened the season with Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional Juvenil in Lima, Peru, and was a soloist on a tour to China with The Dublin Philharmonic with Maestro Derek Gleeson.
Highlights of seasons 2016-2018 included performances at Tippet Rise Festival in Montana and a CD released on Pentatone Oxingale Records, duo recitals with Vadim Repin at The Cartagena Festival in Teatro Colon, Bogota; in Bangalore, Mumbai for The Lakshminarayana Festival; at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari in Sardinia, Italy; in Carnegie Hall; in The Sentosa World Theater in Singapore with Lee Chin Siow; in Basel, Switzerland with Charlie Siem; and a recital in Buenos Aires at CCK Symphony Hall for The Best Pianists of the 21st Century series.
Svetlana studied at Indiana University with Professor Alexander Toradze, at Balakirev Music College with Natalia Fish, at Oberlin Conservatory with Monique Duphil and at The University of Michigan with Arthur Greene.
Ms. Smolina's affiliation with The Chopin Project began in 2007. Her discography includes a CD on the Chopin Project label released in 2012 titled Chopin, Rarities & Favorites, Volume 2.
