The New Standards: A Benefit Concert for the Marine Community Lilbrary
Forget about the 'old standards' of jazz, The New Standards have been sharing their 'new standards' with excited fans for over ten years. Join Chan Poling (The Suburbs), John Munson (Trip Shakespeare, Semisonic) and Steve Roehm (Electropolis) as they perform their favorite songs in a stripped down acoustic setting, featuring solos and arrangements with the freedom of jazz yet with undertones of soul, pop, and rock.
A local trio, The New Standards have a global following, appearing in clubs and theaters around the world. Their Holiday Show is legendary and has been broadcast on Twin Cities Public Television. And now they've generously offered to appear in a benefit for the Marine Community Library, at the Marine on St. Croix Village Hall. With limited seating, this historic building has been used as city offices and a community center with charming stage since the late 1880's. The Marine Community Library is an all-volunteer Library that serves the residents of Marine on St. Croix, Scandia and May Township, and relies on fundraising to continue its operations.
Doors open at 6, show is at 7. Munchies and coffee complimentary, wine available for purchase.
Silent Auction items available for review and bidding until 15 minutes before concert begins. Come early, enjoy a drink and nosh, and bid on fabulous, locally provided items! https://www.32auctions.com/MCL2018
