THE SHOW: Alice is an ambulatory, multi-disciplinary theatrical experience. The audience, traveling in groups of 15, follows a white rabbit to various locations throughout the Main-Dempster Mile in Evanston. Ducking into storerooms and back patios, traipsing through stores and taverns and galleries, the audience IS Alice and the Main-Dempster Mile shopping district becomes a wonderland. Chapters of the book are divided amongst Evanston and Chicago theater companies, visual artists, and filmmakers, and performed in the various locations throughout the neighborhood.
With original work by The Factory Theater, Mudlark Theater Company, The Fleetwood-Jourdain Theater, ShowParty, and current and former ensemble members of The Neo-Futurists, Theatre Oobleck, Wildclaw, and Barrel of Monkeys.

YOUR ROLE: We are looking for a team of performers and community members to work with Upended Productions'Artistic Director, Noelle Krimm, to devise small-scale performative or visual installations that will take place on the streets between venues during the run of the show. The result is that, for a few hours, a couple city blocks in Evanston become Wonderland and everyone involved has a lot of fun.
THE COMMITMENT:
September 2nd (1 to 3) OR September 8 (10 to 12) : Idea workshop
(Sign up for 9/2 - there is a check-out survey that allows you to choose 9/2 or 9/8 or both)
September 15th - Run-through and rehearsal 1pm - 4pm
Participants are asked to commit to perform in a minimum of 6 of the following 11 performances: 9/16, 9/22, 9/23, 9/29, 9/30, 10/6, 10/7, 10/13, 10/14, 10/20, 10/21. Call time for all performances is noon. The show ends at approximately 4pm.
Participation is limited so be sure to sign up as soon as possible.
