John Whelan and Haley Richardson
Champion Button Accordion player John Whelan teams up with up and coming star fiddle player Haley Richardson to bring you an evening of Celtic Music at Grizzly Peak Winery. Haley Richardson is a young traditional Irish fiddler making her mark in the Irish music world. Over the past ten years, she has amassed a long list of accomplishments and performed at venues all over the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Canada, and Thailand. Haley, with her highly ornamented Sligo style perfected under the tutelage of fiddler Brian Conway, is the 2017 All Ireland U15 slow air champion, 2015 Junior Fiddler of Dooney and in 2013 won All Ireland Championships in both fiddle and fiddle slow airs. In addition to multiple All Ireland medals, including medals in solo fiddle and fiddle slow airs in 2016, she is an 9X Mid-Atlantic Fleadh Champion, winning her first championship in the under twelve age category at only six years old. Haley was featured in an article in Fiddler Magazines Fall 2015 issue and selected for an official showcase at the 2017 Folk Alliance Conference. Haley, accompanied by her brother, Dylan, released her debut album, Heart on a String, in March 2015. This year Haley produced and released Music for Mercy, a compilation CD featuring talented young musician friends from around the world to raise money for the Mercy Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
