Always...Patsy Cline
Season Opening Musical: "Always...Patsy Cline"
Created by Ted Swindley; Directed by Erin McKiernan
In 1957, Louise Seger was listening to the radio as she was working in her kitchen and she heard Patsy Cline performing on Arthur Godfreys show, "Talent Scouts." Patsy, against her own wishes, sang a song she considered nothin but a little old pop song. The song, Walking After Midnight, became her first big hit and radio-listening audiences went wild!
Through a series of events, the two women struck up a friendship that lasted until the plane crash that ended Patsys life in 1963.
During the show you will see how the relationship between Cline and Seger develops as they each lead their individual lives and experience love and loss. The musical play, complete with down-home country humor, true emotion, and even some audience participation, includes many of Patsys unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams, and Walking After Midnight 27 songs in all. This show has enjoyed great success all over the United States, including a successful run off-Broadway, and was performed in Branson, Missouri. Come sing along to your favorite Pasty Cline tunes!
