Diving For Walt (Or Under The Sea)
Thousands of years in the future, in the sea over what used to be Florida, two deep sea divers discover what remains of Disney World. But what will they do with this exciting and powerful discovery? What follows is an exploration of ambition and legacy all under the watchful eye of a very shy sea monster.

Creative team bios:
Gillian Beth Durkee (Playwright) is a playwright, screenwriter and occasional singer, actor, and stop-motion filmmaker hailing originally from Seattle. She has been an ONeill semi-finalist (The Study Group [formerly The Bell Curve] in 2015 and Little Souvenirs in 2018), a Sanguine Theatre Project Playwright finalist (Little Souvenirs), a selected playwright for the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival (Romance at the Shoe Factory), and a KCACTF Region I 6x10 winner (Bobs Car).
Other credits and developmental opportunities include the PTP/NYC After Dark Series with In the Water Theatre Co. at Atlantic Stage 2 (The Nothing Train), Sewanee Writer Writers Conference (Great! Youre Ready for a Party!), and Rhapsody Collective (How Steve Died and Boogie Club).
As a screenwriter, Gillian wrote for the award-winning web series That Reminds Me and currently writes for the forthcoming web series Adulting with Jane. Gillians screenplay The Mast Year won second place in the Alfred P. Sloan Script Competition at Carnegie Mellon in 2018. Her screenplay Suyin the Space Junkie was a finalist for the same award in 2017. Gillian recently completed her first stop-motion animated short film, Heidi and Jo.
As a performer, Gillian has sung with Treble NYC, with whom she appeared in New Line Cinemas feature film How to be Single. She has also provided backup vocals for A Great Big World and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. MFA: Dramatic Writing, Carnegie Mellon University, Steven Bochco Fellowship.
Zoe Clayton (Director) is a multidisciplinary theatre artist. She is the Artistic Director of Paint Theatre, a home for the bizarre, which aims to make the experimental accessible for all artists and audiences. She is the Associate Producer of On 1 Condition, an incubator for new dance hosted by Dixon Place. Her work has premiered internationally at the 2015 Prague Quadrennial as a juried selection. She has worked with The New Group, observing and assisting artists such as Scott Elliott, Ed Harris, and Amy Madigan. Most notably, Zoe assisted playwright Sam Shepard on early iterations of his last work.
