Tesserae presents: Telemania
Tesserae is excited to present a program of music by Georg Phillip Telemann with special guest artist Rodolfo Richter. Telemann, personal friend to Johann Sebastian Bach and godfather to his son Carl Phillip Emanuel, is regarded as one of the most prolific composers in Western music history. Telemann far eclipsed his friend Johann Sebastian by way of fame and fortune during their lifetimes. He was a master of almost every musical genre of his day, and this program will explore this variety in his instrumental works. Featuring the famous violin concerto "The Frogs" as well as the Suite in A Minor for recorder and orchestra. The British-Brazilian violinist Rodolfo Richter is one of the leading Baroque violinists in the early music world today, having performed as soloist with many of the leading ensembles in the field.
