Hydra Plane Formed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana mid 2016, Hydra Plane plays a combination of psychedelic rock, jazz, and funk, as well as other styles such as hip-hop and world music. The trio consists of Jacob Stanley on guitar and vocals, Eric Stewart on Bass, and Stephen Nelson on drums however they frequently collaborate with various horn players, percussionists, and rappers. Hydra Plane is highly improvisational and strives to always bring something new to their live performances and recordings
Quarx Quarx began in the Baton Rouge area, playing venues such as the Varsity Theater and the Spanish Moon, and stemmed from the songwriting of Alaric Fricke (rhythm guitar, vocals) in 2017. Jonathan Zeringue (bass) came in to the picture shortly thereafter, followed by Keagan Soto (Lead Guitar) and Thomas Vercher (Drums). Each member of the group comes from a variety of musical interests, background, and experience. The group focused on creating chemistry between each other and blending the influences of Funk, Punk, Progressive Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Rock to produce what the group likes to call "Wholesale Rock-n-Roll." Group members focus on each being given creative input and freedom, allowing the group songwriting process to become as complex or as simple as the story trying to be told from the four. The band does however, believe that they shine the most in the live performance setting. Improvisation, rotating set lists, and guest appearances means one thing, you never know what you'll get at a performance, and twists and turns will always be a possibility. With each night having endless possibilities, Quarx hopes to see you soon.
