Tropicale: A Salon Concert of Latin American Music with The AronBerkner Duo
Greater Boston House Concerts presents The AronBerkner Duo Jane Berkner, flute Stephen Aron, guitar
For one-night only, The AronBerkner Duo, Oberlin Conservatory of Music faculty, will perform from their new release, 'Tropicale', and new works written for them this season.
Their CD, 'Tropicale' features seldom or never-before heard works from Latin America and Italy, including the world-premiere recordings of pieces by Ricardo Iznaola and Vincenzo Sorrentino. Their newer works, by younger composers from here and abroad, look to the idiom of jazz for inspiration. They will mix the familiar with the new, the traditional with the folkloric, the sultry with the virtuosic, in a chamber music concert program to please.
Program: Tigre de Lapa by Luiz Americano Distance by Vincenzo Sorrentino Sonatina Tropical by Jose Lezcano Sonatina, Opus 205 by Castelnuovo-Tedesco Triptico Criollo by Ricardo Iznaola Vals del Olvido by Marco Granados The Hibiee-Jibiees
The AronBerkner Duo has been playing concerts together for over ten years. Their repertoire includes all the flute/guitar masterworks and features several works specially written for them. Their appearances in Italy have led to the establishment of an annual summer chamber music festival there, Suonare in Italia. The duo's first recording, "Tropicale," was released in 2012 on the Clear Note label.
A Q&A and reception with the Artists will follow the concert. Seat Reservations are REQUIRED: http://gbhc4.bpt.me/ Seating is general admission. Free street parking BYOB or wine
