Day with an Entomologist
Learn about insects with entomologist Richard Lewis! This class teaches the different methods employed by entomologists to collect, sort and identify insects through a hands-on learning experience. Insects will be collected from a variety of habitats common in our local environment.
10:00 - 12:00 ~ Collect insects from pitfall, funnel and net traps at WSU's Twin Vista Ranch
1:00 - 4:00 ~ Use dissecting scopes to sort and identify insects at WSU's Classroom
Prerequisite ~ Basic understanding of insect anatomy and classifications (e.g. introductory entomology class, Master Gardener, Growing Groceries participant or insect enthusiast)
