Blue Heart follows the fight for the last wild rivers in Europe. The Balkan regiondiverse in cultures, languages and historyis home to the healthiest rivers in Europe, including the only undammed river on the continent. But across the region, 3,000 hydropower dams and diversions are being proposed or built, threatening irreversible damage to the environment, wildlife and local communities. The film highlights the activists banding together to save the blue heart of Europe, featuring a beautiful score from musician Andrew Bird.
