DocFest2018
DocFest2018 is Erasing the Distance's annual festival of new work, exploring mental health issues from new theatrical perspectives. The two productions in this year's festival are-
OVER THE MOON Adapted by Maura Kidwell* and Katie Relkin* Directed by Lydia Milman Schmidt Performed by Claire Alpern and Claudia DiBiccari
From puberty to menopause, the female reproductive system affects mental health. Empathically examining fertility/infertility, illness, motherhood and more, the stories in Over the Moon provide insight and compassion into the female experience.

Learning 101 Adapted by Mariana Green* and Heather Schwartz Directed by Kira Silverstein Performed by Meghan Harkins, Rolo Rodriguez and PJ Walker
Focusing on whole child wellness, Learning 101 examines the role trauma plays in classrooms. Stories of Chicago Public School educators and students magnify an average school today and the challenges they face.

Each DocFest performance is preceded by a reading of a new Erasing the Distance story. Each reading takes place 30 minutes before show time. These readings are free and open to all.
