Indie Film Project: Between Worlds
Independent film 'Between Worlds' documents a first-of-its-kind collaboration between two artists from opposite disciplines as well as opposite coasts of the country. In the film, Tampa-based long exposure photographer Henthorne teams with San Francisco earthscape artist Andrés Amador, on a year-long project that will take the duo on a journey in which they cover thousands of miles while working on dozens of remote beaches on the California coast. It is a partnership challenged by the disparate natures of their respective crafts. While Andrés can only produce his art within a very narrow duration between tides, Henthorne can only capture his images with specific natural light, perspective, and ample time for his signature long exposure shots.
Between Worlds also shares some of the trials encountered by both artists as they forego the safety of conventional employment in order to pursue their artistic passions. While Andrés earthscape works have enjoyed worldwide exposure and he has developed a social media following over two hundred thousand strong, he is still torn between the pursuit of his art and the need to provide for his wife and newborn son. And while Henthorne's photography has garnered widespread acclaim, he still strives to move the scope of his work beyond the somewhat confining milieu of his home town. Will they workout their artistic differences and overcome mother nature's obstacles to create something which is both critically and commercially successful?
Between Worlds gives the viewer a glimpse into the artistic, professional, and personal challenges faced by two artists combining their pursuits into a perceptive, united vision.
