In the House Festival 10th Year Anniversary Fundraising Gala
How else would you celebrate the In the House Festival's 10th year anniversary but with  music, dance, circus, chocolate, magic, storytelling, visuals, auction shopping and of course you fabulous people during the evening?

This Thursday, May 9th, be part of the memory making and come celebrate this special occasion with us! Be wowed by the performances, dance your face off, indulge in our 2 chocolate chocolate fountains, shop for amaaaazing prizes at our live and silent auctions and have some birthday cake with us!

Trust me... You want to be there!!!

Date: May 9, 2013
Time: Doors + reception @ 7 / Stage show + live auction @ 8 / Music, dancing, partying, roving performances @ 9ish!
Venue: Famee Furlane Hall, 2605 E. Pender St.
Tickets: $40 in advance / $50 at the door
(All proceeds go towards the festival!)
   
This kind of party only happens once every 10 years so you DON'T want miss out!

A Glimpse at the Live Auction:
1) a trip for two to Paris, including flight and 3 nights accomodation!
2) a photoshoot with artist Robert Kenney from which he will create a stunning piece of art just for you (www.robertkenney.ca)
3) a private house concert with a beloved Vancouver musician (name to be revealed at the event - hint: it starts with the 4th letter of the alphabet and all three of the syllables in his name rhyme!)
4) a private house concert with the Wetspots (www.wetspotsmusic.net)
5) A two-night stay at the Lodge at Weir's Beach (www.thelodgeatweirsbeach.com)

A Glimpse at the Silent Auction:

Performers:

During the Reception (7-8pm)

Deanna Knight & the Hot Club of Mars: Travel to Paris in the 1930's and experience this gypsy-swing ensemble.

Naomi Steinberg: Naomi will keep you spellbound with her storytelling skills.

Clinton W. Gray: An award-winning magician, Clinton W. Gray will entrance and mystify you as he roams around the room in search of his next "victim."

Stage Show (8 pm)

Now or Never Crew: This b-boy crew will knock your socks off with moves you'd never think possible!

Melissa Aston: Cosmo the clown will balance, juggle and be just awkward enough to waltz right into your heart.

Hailey McClosky + Lost + Found Puppet Co.: Dance and puppetry blend seamlessly in this romantic little number.

Yuki Ueda + Chris Murdoch: Juggling at its best! This dynamite duo will make you breathless at their ball manipulation skills.

Samba Fusion: The hot sounds of samba mixed with the hot costumes and skill of the dancers... You'll be in Brazil in no time flat!

Santiago + Deborah: The sensual poetry of the tango is brought to life as they glide across the floor with all their passion for the dance.

Travis Lim:  What's he doing on stage? Oh yeah! As our youngest dancer in the line-up at 11 years old, he's about to blow your mind!

Live Auction Auctioneer

David C. Jones: There's a reason David C. Jones won the Georgia Straight's Best Comedian award 2 years in a row. He's freakin' hilarious! He'll have you in stitches in seconds! And he's an amazing auctioneer. So get ready to buy those prizes with a giant smile on your face!

Dance party:

Sambata: Sambata plays a powerful, high energy and unique blend of music drawing on the rich traditions of Afro-Cuban and Brazilian popular and folkloric music.    

Orkestar Slivovica: Showing up in style with guest stars all the way from Serbia, Demiran and Novica Cerimovic, Orkestar Slivovica will get you on your feet and dancing in no time flat! Everything they cross paths with becomes a Balkan Roma-style wedding dance party!

Ladies in White: The Ladies in White will enchant and mystify you. They will make you laugh and wonder at their antics.

Visuals:

Ben Z. Cooper: Ben Z. Cooper is an imaginographer. He weaves together cinematography, photography and chronography with computers, brains and time to bring ideas to life.
