SHE Is History! A Play About Women Who MAKE And MADE History
Celebrate Women's Equality Day - Sunday August 26th, with a Very Special Staged Reading of SHE Is History! Please join us for an evening of inspiring, enlightening, funny and empowering stories honoring the women - and men - who fought to make Women's Equality Day possible.

Written and Produced by Amy Simon, who has written two of the longest running solo plays in Los Angeles (Cheerios In My Underwear and She's History!) and presented by Theatre West; this full cast staged reading is based on her solo play about women who make and made History.

Developed in Theatre West's Writers Workshop, this performance is a fundraiser for this wonderful theatre, which is the longest operating theatre in Los Angeles.

Directed by Samantha Shada.

Why do we know more about Kim Kardashian than Abigail Adams?

Writer/Performer/Cultural Herstorian Amy Simon knew something needed to be done when her ten-year-old daughter came home from school, planning on doing her women's history report on Cher.

Going back and forth from the past to the present, this Mom On A Mission poignantly finds the funny, as she chronicles the struggles and accomplishments of our unheralded, unknown and forgotten heroines whose courage and strength inspire her as she raises and enlightens her two daughters.  Simon spent years researching diaries, letters, publications, and biographies. She uses theater, history, multi-media, and good old-fashioned story telling and created this unique herstorical edutaining theatrical presentation. It's all there in a Gal-A-Palooza honoring Female America!

Concessions available in the lobby. All proceeds benefit the theatre.
