SELECTIVE MEMORY: Fraud
SELECTIVE MEMORY: FRAUD by Dean Fleischer-Camp
A family's home movies document a desperate crime spree and the bid to outrun the consequences. Born from a colossal trove of innocuous uploads to YouTube, Fraud is an impressionistic meta-fiction thriller that constructs one familys struggle for the American dream, out of birthday parties, garage sales, road trips and vacation footage. Described as Deft, daring, and deceptively raw yet elegant by Variety, Fraud defies simplistic definition.
Q&A to follow with director Dean Fleischer-Camp.
FRAUD is part of this summer's SELECTIVE MEMORY (www.memory.is/selective) weekly screening series curated by MEMORY, that aims to showcase innovative non-fiction films that take on, reimagine, confront, confound, distort and blur our traditional definition of documentary film.
