SYNOPSIS:
An Evil Sorcerer, Von Rothbart, has captured a beautiful Princess and her maidens. They are placed under a spell that turns them into Swans during the day.
Only sworn "true love" can break the spell.
Prince Siegfried is out hunting one evening and sees a flock of swans landing. As they land they turn into beautiful maidens. He falls in love with Princess Odette, and swears his love to her.
The angered evil Sorcerer, Von Rothbart threatens to kill the Prince, Odette begs the sorcerer to let him free.
The next evening the Queen holds a ball for Prince Siegfried to choose a princess to marry. He is not interested in any of the princesses, being that he has sworn his love to Odette.
Von Rothbart angered by the Prince swearing his love to Odette and chancing him breaking the spell, has a plan to trick the prince into swearing his love to another. Then the evil spell on Odette and her maidens will never be broken.
Von Rothbart plans to disguise his daughter, Odile, into looking like Odette and brings her to the Queen's ball. Prince Siegfried does not realize Odile is not Odette and tells his mother this is the woman he is to marry.
Odette arrives at the castle to tell the prince he is being tricked, but Von Rothbart shields her from being seen and Siegfried does not realize he has been tricked. Prince Siegfried swears his love to Odile, and promises to marry her. Von Rothbart reveals his trickery and now the spell over Odette and the maidens may never be broken.
Prince Siegfried rushes back to the forest to find Odette and tell her about her fate and his terrible mistake . When he finds the saddened Odette and maidens. Von Rothbart returns to take Odette and the maidens away. Siegfried and the swans attack Von Rothbart in attempt to destroy him. The Swans succeed at weakening the sorcerer and Prince Seigfried is able to destroy Von Rothbart. The spell is broken and Odette and the maidens are set free.
