The AZTLAN Dance Company presents the AZTLAN Enchilada Western: Texas Deep Fried, August 23-26th at the Santa Cruz Theater, 1805 East 7th Street in Austin, Texas. Texas Deep Fried is the 3rd installment of the Enchilada Western series that showcases Borderlands culture in all of its rich complexities.

Merging tradition and modernity into new theatrical choreo-dramas, AZTLAN provides glimpses into the sights, sounds, and movements that renders contemporary Border/Frontera culture. AZTLANs signature choreography infuses movement with meaning to take audiences with them into both know and unknown spaces in dance.

Imagining the spaces between here and there, somewhere and nowhere, but irrefutably in the present AZTLAN's Enchilada Western takes audiences into the beauty and danger of the crossings. From the fast foot desperados and taunting pistoleras, to the epic shaman-seer and tawdry tonic vendor, Aztlan presents their signature dance storytelling that makes their work proven as an Austin original.
