William Topley is a deep voiced, soulful British vocalist with a voracious appetite for the bluesy sounds of America's deep south. His distinctive songs, charged with memorable musical imagery, and dripping with evocative lyrics, deliver more with each listening and endorse the sense of the journey that each and every one of us goes through. The unique lyrics and perspective on life have a depth to them that will touch your soul even as you hum along to the familiar songs - they will inspire you, sometimes baffle you, but always make you think! The real life-changing events that shape the creative spirit rarely happen overnight, and William Topley's back story has been a few decades in the making - from the formative years of his London based band 'Just William' through the heady, alcohol fuelled world tours with The Blessing, and for good measure, another decade or two of solo CD's and collaborations with some of the best musicians in the business. Throw into the mix, countless live performances on both sides of the Atlantic (and the Caribbean!) it's hardly surprising that he is able to cross so many musical boundaries with ease Blues, Reggae, Country, Rock, Soul and more, are all in there somewhere, but always with a Topley twist! It is very real music, which endures in a way that never goes out of fashion - just gets better the more you hear it. The Blessing's seminal album 'Prince of the Deep Water (1991) is still prized by many fans as a cornerstone to their record collection, and their second album 'Locusts and Wild Honey' has been known to change hands on Ebay for exorbitant sums of money in recent years In some households, the entire works of William Topley are affectionately known as the 'kill stack' as in - "if you borrow, touch or steal any of them I'll kill you!" Through the years, William has collaborated often with guitarist/songwriter Dominic Miller, best known for his work with Sting. He once said of Topley "It's only a matter of time - watch this space!" - there are many who feel that time could well be now
