One Hour for Our Kingdom of An Tir
NB: This is not an "EVENT", this is a Fundraising Page to benefit the Kingdom of An Tir, organized by a supporting group (The History Scholars for Educational Advancement, or "HSEA"). Details about why this is being done this way below.

Greetings. I am Sir Brand aux deus Leons, MPel (GregRobin Smith), the Deputy for Inspirational Giving (DIG) for the Kingdom of An Tir.
To help support the Kingdom in its general need of operating funds, I am pledging to donate one hour of my modern employments' wages, each and every Reign. If you are gainfully employed, I invite you to join me and (at whatever rate of pay) to also donate ~one hour's wages to the Kingdom each Reign through this site. Brown Paper Tickets (BPT) will gather and distribute the money (with only a tiny charge for processing to PayPal).

100% of the funds received will be given to the Kingdom Exchequer to deposit in An Tir's Accounts for the support of the Kingdom of An Tir.

The running totals of this campaign will always be disclosed and available to anyone who comes to these pages, although each individual donor may choose anonymity. (NB: As Coordinator, I will have access to names and information of all Donors, however, all such requests for anonymity will be honored, except as required for rules of disclosure.)

The goal right now is to achieve 400 or more donors each Reign, and we hope to bring in approximately $5,000 each Reign through this "One Hour for Our Kingdom" drive. Please help spread the word to those you know who have a good job and can spare one hour's wage to this effort.

This will not be the only effort this Office (DIG) will attempt. We have many ideas in the works to raise money and to support the People of An Tir.  We are seeking deputies in groups of any size to help coordinate the efforts of An Tir's Citizens to work on Fundraisers. Please feel free to use this service to  donate funds made through garage sales, car washes and any other non-Medieval activity. We must simply be careful that if any fundraiser is done outside of the purview of the by-laws of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc., that any such funds raised should be tracked, then given to an individual and then individually donated to the Kingdom.

Fine Print: If you do not find your hourly rate listed in the choices, combine amounts to get to the amount you wish. Give no more than you can afford. Your time, ideas and energy are also greatly desired.
"Who, or What is _The HSEA (History Scholars for Educational Advancement)?_
The HSEA is an outside group dedicated to advancing history education, and for fundraising for non-profits. In conversation with the Society Exchequer, it was conveyed to me that, for some activities, groups outside the SCA, Inc. could be best situated to be the point organization (especially if monies are raised in a professional capacity - e.g. professional education demonstrations that pay their participants, car washes and other non-medieval activities, etc.) So, the HSCA is the contact group for this effort. If you wish to learn more about The HSEA, or to start a chapter, please contact me.
The HSCA is not taking any 'cut' of the donations of this effort. We use the HSCA Logo because Brown Paper Tickets needed a logo, and any logos of the SCA, Inc. are copyrighted, and since this is not a direct effort of the SCA, Inc., I am not using their logos. Make sense?

This effort is done In coordination with the Exchequer of An Tir, the Society Exchequer, and the outside non-profit support group, The HSEA.
I am happy to answer any and all questions, help coordinate and help support any such effort to support our great Land.
In support and service, Sir Brand aux deus Leons, MPel
(GregRobin Smith - Executive Director - The Washington Shakespeare Festival, and the HSEA.)
