Rachelle Garniez: "NYC Serenades"
Native New Yorker songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rachelle Garniez presents an evening of originals dedicated to her hometown; tales and tunes inspired by childhood memories, days spent street-corner busking, encounters with various characters and meditations on glitter and grime. Evocative, emotional, by turns moving and hilarious, NYC Serenades is a collection of intimate and inspiring love stories.
Genre-fluid singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Rachelle Garniez is at home in many worlds, from busking to performing on stages all over the globe. She has released 6 albums of original songs; her influences ranging from Tin Pan Alley to klezmer and Latinesque Soul. Her story songs have been described as "romantic, rhapsodic and casually hilarious." (The New York Times) and have been recorded by singers Catherine Russell and Karen Elson, among others. Rachelle is the winner of the 2018 Bistro Award for outstanding singer/instrumentalist.
