Vegetable Literacy: A Conversation with Author Deborah Madison
We are delighted to welcome Deborah Madison to Healdsburg SHED to introduce her beautiful, new and monumental book: Vegetable Literacy.
Deborah has been at the vanguard of the vegetarian cooking movement, authoring classic books on the subject and emboldening millions of readers to cook simple, elegant, plant-based food. In her latest cookbook, Deborah reveals the surprising relationships between vegetables, edible flowers and herbs within the same botanical families, and how understanding these connections can help home cooks see everyday vegetables in new light.
Deborah Madison is the founding chef of the highly acclaimed Greens Restaurant in San Francisco. Her writing interests lay with issues of biodiversity, sustainability, seasonal and local eating, farmers markets, small and mid-scale farming, farmers and ranchers, gardens and gardeners.
Michele Anna Jordan writes three lively columns about food and wine in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, in addition to hosting "Mouthful", the wine country's most delicious hour on radio.
Both Deborah and Michele are prolific writers and James Beard award winners.
