John Németh and the Blue Dreamers

The first time he heard Hoodoo Man by Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, John Németh knew the blues would be his path in life. And what a path. The Boise, Idaho native has roamed from Idaho to San Francisco to Memphis, a city rich in musical history that he now calls home. Hes a proud recipient of two Blues Music Awards; a 2014 nod for Soul Blues Male Artist, and in 2015, his record, Memphis Grease, took the prize for Soul Blues Album. This year, hes on the Feelin Freaky tour in support of his latest record by the same name, produced by Luther Dickinson. This new collection of original songs always punctuated and informed by his incredible harp playing run the gamut of songs that address societal concerns, to the sheer pleasure of dancing and weed. His band, The Blue Dreamers, give Némeths songs the drive and energy they deserve. Hes a monster in the blues world, but hes impossible to categorize. Lets just say hes an amazing performer. And you should buy his latest record, Feelin Freaky. Its really good.
