Moonlight and Magnolias
Its 1939 and Hollywood is all abuzz! Legendary producer David O. Selznick has shut down production of his new epic, Gone with the Wind, a film adaptation of Margaret Mitchells novel. The screenplay just isnt working so the Hollywood mogul who is being hounded by the films stars and gossip reporters, enlists the help of famed screenwriter, Ben Hecht and pulls the formidable director, Victor Fleming off the set of The Wizard of Oz to fix it. For the next five days, locked in a room on a diet of bananas and peanuts, it will be up to these three men to fashion the screenplay for one of the greatest motion pictures ever made. Based on actual events, this tale of desperation and genius makes for an engaging and hysterical night of entertainment.
Presented by the RWU Barn Summer Playhouse in a visiting production at The Wilbury Theatre Group.
