Goddess Lakshmi Video/Single release party

Video artist, composer and Goddess Lakshmi bandleader Rene Calvo releases his latest video/single Another Mother's Son. An exploration of the intersection of the #blacklivesmatter movement and the spate of mass shootings in America. Prompted by the recent Parkland shooting Another Mother's Son explores America's tragic fascination with firearms throgh words, music and images.

Harlem's Indy rockers Goddess Lakshmi have been thrilling audiences since 2011 at Paris Blues, The Harlem Flophouse and on tour. They have recorded 4 albums, received airplay on 200+ terrestrial radio stations and have been interviewed and played live on-air numerous times. They are known for their eclectic blues based soulful repertoire. The ensemble features Rene Calvo, composer, guitarist, Jarrett Walser, drums, Leo Smith on bass and vocalist The Sublime Ms. Kosi.

The Harlem Flophouse, built in the 1890s, has been in continuous operation as a flophouse since 1917. Lovingly restored by artist/musician Rene Calvo it has garnered a world wide reputation for it's unique beauty and character. It has been the site of numerous photo shoots, TV and film productions.
