Snap on 2&4 w/ the Tachoir Duo
The Nashville Jazz Workshop welcomes pianist and composer Marlene Tachoir and vibraphonist Jerry Tachoir as the Tachoir Duo in the Jazz Cave on Friday, August 3 at 8 pm.
Marlene Tachoir is a graduate of the Quebec Conservatory of Music, and Berklee College of Music, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in Arranging and Composition. As a composer she is the Winner of the 1st GMN.com International Jazz Composition Contest in 2000, and 2-time winner of the International Jazz Compostition Contest in Monaco. Her August 3 performance in the Jazz Cave will include the world premier of a new composition entitled, Reflections for Vibraphone and Piano.
Also a graduate of Berklee College of Music, Jerry Tachoir is a nationally acclaimed bandleader and an authority on vibes, marimba and percussion. Originally from Pennsylvania, Tachoir has lived in Nashville for many years, performing and leading clinics and master classes here and around the world.
There will be two sets beginning at 8:00 pm in the Jazz Cave at the Workshop. Admission is $25 / $15 high school and college students with ID. Tickets will go on sale Monday July 23 at 10AM and will be available online on this page, by phone 24/7 at Brown Paper Tickets (800-838-3006) or during business hours at the NJW office (242-5299). A small convenience charge is added to online or 800-number purchases.
Policies: The Jazz Cave is a BYOB establishment, with no alcohol or food service. You are free to bring alcoholic beverages and snacks. We sell soft drinks and bottled water. The Jazz Cave is a listening room, and we ask patrons to keep conversation to a minimum and silence cell phones. Audio and video recording is prohibited. Ticket sales are final.
The Nashville Jazz Workshop is a nonprofit organization offering classes for all ages, instruments, and levels, public performances, and special events for the community.
